China Day 12
While architecture and design, retail and restaurants, was where most of my attention was focused, the Beijing Olympic "Cube" held a different meaning for me. My oldest two children, Jean-Paul and Isabella, swam competitively as teens. They had the chance to swim in an olympic pool in Prague and in Sydney but I beat them to the "Cube" in Beijing. Also, we celebrated Rizal's 45th birthday on 08-08-08. We surprised him with a huge party and told him the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics on all the big screen TVs was in his honor.
