China Day 7

Depart Chengdu for Shi Jia Zhuang:
Sunny, Kim, & Tracy
I had such a memorable experience attending the Sister Cities Conference and the events unique to our Phoenix delegation and meeting "Fish's" family that it was with a tinge of sadness that I left Chengdu.  Everyone I met with out exception, our hosts from all the government and commerce offices, the Foreign Affairs office and all their lovely university student volunteer translators, the media team that visited Phoenix earlier this year, the delegates from the other Sister Cities, the staff at the newly opened Holiday Inn and the "man-on-the-street,"  where welcoming and gracious.

Kisah, my translator, left me at the Chengdu Airport where I boarded a China Eastern flight for Shi Jia Zhaung (I forgot to mention earlier that the transpacific flight on China Southern was excellent; I would comfortable recommending that airline).

Just as in Chengdu, the amount of construction taking place in China is hard to fathom.  There are cranes filling the sky in every direction one looks.
